Development Co-operation: Luxembourg

In Luxembourg, development co-operation is one of the fields of competence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Development Co-operation and Defence. At this moment there is very little information available on the Internet about this Ministry. Some information is given at the Luxembourg government website (only available in French).  There is also some information on the activities of this Ministry in 1999 (only available in French)

Lux-development is the development co-operation agency for the majority of bilateral projects financed by the government of Luxembourg and for Luxembourg’s emergency relief work. The agency concentrates its work in countries selected by the government, in a limited number of sectors. The agency has the structure of a private company to ensure its autonomy. It is a non-profit company, which is partially owned by the government.

Further information is available at the  Lux-development website.

The amount and distribution of official development assistance of Luxembourg in the period 1998-99 can be found at the DAC website.
